Nature Play!

Community Children’s Center (CCC) is a non-profit early care and education parent cooperative, offering a professionally staffed, high quality program for children ages one through five years old. We are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), a member of the Natural Start Alliance, and Eco-Healthy Child Care certified. CCC is the premier nature-based, play-based early childhood program in eastern Connecticut.

Our program, established in 1970, continues to be a model for progressive early care and education. We create a positive and lovingly guided early group experience as a foundation for learning in all developmental areas. Children have the opportunity to stretch socially, cognitively, creatively, and physically, developing independence while learning to know themselves as a vital member of a larger, diverse, caring community.

Our school is nestled between a native meadow and lovely Connecticut woods, with a well-tended, large and unique play yard right in the heart of our grounds. Trails with kid-height blazes wind through the woods and meadow. The fenced play yard has a variety of features, including wide open spaces, riding paths, climbing equipment, an outdoor music station, and more.

For more information about our program, please explore our site and contact us to schedule a tour. CCC operates year-round, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm.
